Feb 25, 2025: Executive Order Targeting Immigrants and Federal Assistance Programs
The executive order issued last week does not alter eligibility for federally funded public benefits. Undocumented individuals remain eligible for very few public benefits, which are typically protected by federal law and cannot be changed by executive order alone. Families should continue to use benefits they are eligible for until further notice. Check back for updates

May 1, 2023: Keep Your New Mexico Medicaid
All New Mexico Medicaid/Centennial Care/Turquoise Care renewals are due annually.
- Look for renewal papers in the mail from the New Mexico Health Care Authority (HCA), the state agency that oversees NM Medicaid/Centennial Care/Turquoise Care.
- If you’ve moved, make sure the state has your current contact information. You can update your information on YESNM Online portal https://yes.nm.gov/nmhr/s/?language=en_US or by calling the HCA. Find contact information here: https://www.hca.nm.gov/contact_us/
Want to renew your New Mexico Medicaid/Turquoise Care/Centennial Care?
- Complete your renewal paperwork when you get it. You can fill out the paper forms and mail them or drop them off at an HCA office.

- Contact the HCA by phone or visit a local HCA office at: https://www.hca.nm.gov/contact_us/
Getting health coverage like New Mexico Medicaid/Centennial Care/Turquoise Care does not affect immigration status (unless used for long-term, institutional care).
