May 1, 2023: Keep Your Health First Colorado or CHP+

Health First Colorado (Colorado's Medicaid program) and Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) renewals are due annually.

  • Look for renewal papers in the mail from the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF), the state agency that oversees Health First Colorado and CHP+.
  • If you've moved, make sure the state has your current contact information. You can update your information on PEAK or by calling your county human or social services department. Find contact information for your county here: https://cdhs.colorado.gov/contact-your-county

  • Want to renew your Health First Colorado or CHP+?

  • Complete your renewal paperwork when you get it. You can fill out the paper forms and mail them or drop them off at your county human or social services department.
  • You can also complete your renewal on PEAK at: https://colorado.gov/peak
  • Contact your county human or social services department. Find your agency at: https://cdhs.colorado.gov/contact-your-county
  • Need help? Find local assisters at: https://apps.colorado.gov/apps/maps/hcpf.map

  • Getting health coverage like Health First Colorado and CHP+ does not affect immigration status (unless used for long-term, institutional care).

    Starting in 2025, Children ages 0-19 years and pregnant people may qualify for Health First Colorado or CHP+ regardless of immigration status.
